So Craigslist is great! Brad and I sold his junk to people this week. BUT the great part is that it's not junk to them and we made over $200 bucks! We sold a rug for $70, a lawn mower for $40, a tv stand for $25.... My favorite is that we sold a Dresser that my old roommate left behind, that was MISSING a drawer for $5. (truth be told I would have Paid some one $5 to take it).

And then on top of all that I posted two of Brads old bikes. One was an old Mongoose mountain bike (We sold it for $35 to a coworker) and the other was a Robinson pro cruiser.

Oh My GOODNESS. I was not prepared for the response that took place after that posting. Posting an add for bikes in this Hippie infested city is like throwing Chum in shark infested waters... are you ever really ready for that? Well needless to say, No. I made the mistake of posting my phone number and not knowing the value of the cruiser. We thought we where going in high at $120... yea...not so much. 15 minutes after I posted it. I had, and NO JOKE, 6 e-mail...4 calls and 3 texts asking for the bike. One offering me $150 if I could drop it off that night. Keep in mind it was 11:30pm and I had to work the next day. I was amazed. These crazies in Austin had the bid up to $200 and one guy wanted to drive down from fort worth to get it and till about 15 minutes ago was still stalking me for it. Oh lord... After all this I removed the post. But oh no... this didn't stop them. Those hippies are persistent little buggers. So I asked Brad what he wanted to do. His response? Man I didn't know it was such a big deal. Maybe I should keep it. While he's saying this I am getting 15 text messages in the background. I reach to strangle him but stop myself. Instead I debate whether to tell these people we sold it or tell them the truth. "I am sorry my waffely BF decided he didn't want $200 for the bike he road twice (because he owns 7 others)." I decide for my safety I need to lie and say someone out bid them. It's not pretty. Angry Hippies are not fun. They have a dark side and don't let anyone tell you different.
Moral of the story... one persons junk is another persons treasure... and you can get money out of them because of it :)
